This limited-edition single-cask rum from El Salvador is part of the Planteray Single Cask Collection 2026. It is made from sugar cane molasses at the Ingenio la Cabaña Distillery, where the molasses ferments for two to three days before being distilled in a column still.
The rum is matured in three stages. It first spends seven years in ex-bourbon casks under tropical conditions, then rests for a further six months in Ferrand casks in France. A final 18-month finish in casks that previously held White Muscatel wine adds the influence of that aromatic grape variety and extra complexity. It contains 8 g of sugar per litre.
Bottled at 47.7% ABV in a 0.7-litre bottle and presented in a giftbox, this edition pairs Central American rum tradition with French cask maturation. Planteray, formerly known as Plantation Rum, belongs to the French spirits house Maison Ferrand, where Master Blender Alexandre Gabriel is known for unusual barrel combinations. It will appeal to lovers of distinctive cask work and to collectors of exclusive rum editions.
