Habitation Velier HAMPDEN OWH Jamaica Pure Single Rum 2016 60% Vol. 0,7l in Giftbox

Opis

This Jamaican pure single rum comes from the historic Hampden Estate Distillery in Trelawny and is bottled by Habitation Velier. Made from molasses, it was distilled in 2016 in a traditional copper double-retort pot still, using the discontinuous method exclusively.
The bottling carries the Hampden OWH mark, which stands for Omar Warmington Hussey and denotes a comparatively moderate ester concentration within Hampden's distinctive style. The rum then matured for seven years in ex-bourbon casks, entirely under tropical conditions in Jamaica. This intense climate led to an exceptionally high Angel's Share of over 42 per cent, leaving the distillate markedly more concentrated.
It was bottled in 2023 at a cask strength of 60% Vol. without chill filtration, colouring or sweetening, keeping the character of the distillate and its cask ageing intact. The Habitation Velier series celebrates traditional distilleries and their production methods, and this Hampden OWH 2016 is an authentic expression of the Jamaican pot-still tradition. The 0.7-litre bottle is presented in a gift box.
