Habitation Velier RAINFOREST Philippines Pure Single Rum 2024 58% Vol. 0.7l Giftbox

Opis

Habitation Velier's Rainforest expression turns the spotlight on the Philippines, a rum-producing origin still rarely seen in independent bottling circles. Distilled entirely in pot stills in 2024, the spirit qualifies as a true Pure Single Rum, meaning the character in the glass comes purely from the distillate itself, with nothing added to shape or soften it along the way.
Maturation took place locally in the Philippines' tropical climate, where the casks used were carefully selected ex-Chardonnay barrels. Just 20 months in these warm conditions proved intense enough to drive an angel's share of more than 10%, a striking rate of evaporation that speaks to how aggressively the tropics interact with the liquid and the wood. The former white wine casks are said to have layered fruit-forward and subtly woody notes onto the rum's natural cane sugar backbone.
Bottled in 2026 at a robust 58% ABV, this release skips colouring, chill filtration, and any added sugar, staying true to Habitation Velier's philosophy of transparent, unmanipulated bottling. The result is a rum built for drinkers who want to taste the raw imprint of pot-still distillation and an unusual cask choice, rather than a smoothed-over, standardized profile.
Supplied in a 0.7-litre bottle with its own gift packaging, the Rainforest 2024/2026 is best suited to collectors and rum enthusiasts already familiar with Habitation Velier's single-origin, single-cask-style releases, and curious to explore what Philippine rum production brings to the category.
