Zarinite

Zarinite is a rare and beautiful mineral with an interesting crystal structure in which sulphur and oxygen atoms occur in a very specific sequence. Zrainite occurs in hydrothermal vein deposits, where it forms as a secondary mineral on copper- and zinc-rich ores. The mineral has a very colourful appearance, with a mixture of brown, green and blue shades. The green inclusions are due to its copper content, while the blue inclusions are due to its iron content. It was first discovered in Russia in 1967 and has since been found in Iran and the USA.

Because of its high copper content, zarinite shares a number of metaphysical properties with copper.
