The Glengoyne 21 Years Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a 21-year-old Highland single malt that reflects the deliberately slow and traditional style of the Glengoyne Distillery. For this bottling, the distillery uses unpeated barley malt, ensuring a consistent focus on fruit, malt, and cask maturation. The whisky spends its entire maturation period of more than two decades exclusively in carefully selected 100% first-fill sherry casks. The intense influence of these sherry casks, used for the first time with Scotch whisky, shapes the depth and characteristic sherry style of this bottling. Glengoyne also refrains from adding coloring, so the rich color develops solely during the long cask maturation.

The Glengoyne 21 Years Old is bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle and comes in a gift box. This single malt is non-chill filtered, combining a natural presentation with an exceptionally long sherry cask maturation. Glengoyne also takes a conscious approach to packaging: it is 100% recyclable, plastic-free, and FSC-certified. The combination of 21 years of maturation, exclusively first-fill sherry casks, unpeated barley malt, natural color, and non-chill filtration makes this edition a particularly high-quality expression from the distillery. Taster's note
Colour: Deep, natural amber.

Nose: Rich with red apples, spiced strudel and toffee, accompanied by sherry, dried fruit and hints of classic fruitcake.

Palate: Full-bodied and intensely sherry-forward with honey and spicy oak, which develops increasingly aromatic and is accompanied by a delicate sweetness.

Finish: Long, warm and dry with sherry, robust spice and a distinctive hint of cinnamon.

The Glengoyne 21 Years Old should preferably be served neat at room temperature in a nosing glass to allow the sherry cask notes developed over 21 years to fully unfold. A few drops of still water can further open up the complex fruit and spice components. Food pairings include fruitcake, dark chocolate, dried fruit, roasted nuts or long-aged hard cheeses, which complement its rich sherry profile particularly well.
